Kaum ein Musiker hat den Jazz über so viele Jahrzehnte und Stilphasen hinweg geprägt wie er – vom Bebop an der Seite von Charlie Parker über die Geburt des Cool Jazz, die großen Gil-Evans-Kollaborationen, den modalen Meilenstein Kind of Blue, das zweite Quintett, die elektrische Fusion-Ära um In a Silent Way und Bitches Brew, die radikalen 70er-Live-Sets bis zum Spätwerk mit Marcus Miller. Was zählt
Zulässig sind alle Tracks, die offiziell auf Tonträger erschienen sind und auf denen Miles Davis als Leader oder Co-Leader firmiert – die Gil-Evans-Kollaborationen also eingeschlossen. Das umfasst sämtliche Studio- wie Live-Aufnahmen, egal ob zu Lebzeiten oder posthum erschienen.
Nicht zulässig sind Bootlegs, inoffizielle Mitschnitte sowie Aufnahmen, auf denen Miles nur als Sideman mitwirkt.
Format eurer Liste
Durchnummeriert von 1 bis 20
Pro Eintrag: Trackname + Name der Veröffentlichung (bei Erscheinen auf mehreren Tonträgern bitte die ursprüngliche Quelle nennen)
Punktevergabe
Platz 1 = 25 Punkte, Platz 2 = 24, Platz 3 = 23, … Platz 20 = 6 Punkte.
Versionen und Sonderfälle
Grundprinzip: Es gilt die Erstveröffentlichung. Jeder Abschnitt, der dort als eigener Track gelistet war, zählt als eigener Track – jeder Abschnitt, der dort als ein Track gelistet war, zählt als ein Track. Auch wenn spätere Reissues das anders handhaben.
Verschiedene Aufnahmen desselben Stücks zählen als separate Einträge. Eine Liste darf theoretisch aus 20 Versionen von So What bestehen. In der Auswertung werden identische Tracks zusammengeführt, unterschiedliche nicht.
Auf LP geteilte Stücke zählen entsprechend der Erstveröffentlichung als zwei eigenständige Tracks.
Umgekehrt: War ein durchgehender Track in der Erstveröffentlichung als ein einziger Titel gelistet, bleibt er auch ein Track – selbst wenn spätere CD- oder Digitalausgaben ihn in Abschnitte aufgeteilt haben.
Benannte Abschnitte innerhalb eines Live-Sets folgen demselben Prinzip: so wie auf der Erstveröffentlichung getrackt.
Alternate Takes und Single-Edits gelten als eigenständige Nennungen. Bitte entsprechend kennzeichnen – Alternate Takes mit Take-Nummer, Single-Edits als solche markiert.
