Eure Album Top 100

Was Live-Alben angeht, haben die für mich schon immer zugehört. Klar sind viele Livealben mehr oder weniger so eine Art "Best Of", was auch logisch ist, weil ich als Konzertbesucher die TOP-Sachen einer bekannten Band/eines bekannten Interpreten hören möchte und nicht komplett unbekanntes Material. Und oft genug sind ja auch Livealben nicht ein komplettes aufgenommenes Konzert, sondern aus verschieden Konzerten zusammen gesetzt, mithin also "Live-Compilations". Aber entscheident ist für mich, wie gut und wichtig mir die Musik ist. Und wenn dies der Fall ist, ist ein entsprechendes Album auch in meiner Top100/500-Liste mit drin.

Ein wenig anders verhält es sich mit Paul Simons African Concert (Recorded live on location in Harare, Zimbabwe, the show combines a mix of music from Simon's GRACELAND album with some of the best examples of African music), das es allerdings nur auf DVD (und VHS) gibt, soweit ich das sehe. Und selbst die hatte ich bisher nicht gefunden. Jetzt für etwas über 10 EUR (gebraucht) gefunden und bestellt. Bin gespannt; vielleicht ist mein altes Macbook doch noch für etwas zu gebrauchen:

Die Paul Simon - Graceland: The African Concert DVD ist im PAL-Format produziert und kann regionale Beschränkungen haben. Ein Kunde erwähnt in einer Bewertung, dass die DVD nicht in seinem deutschen DVD-Player funktioniert und nur im Computer abspielt, wenn er die Ländereinstellung ändert. Dies deutet darauf hin, dass die DVD möglicherweise für die amerikanische Region (Region 1) kodiert ist, während deutsche Player normalerweise Region 2 verwenden.

A Hard Day's Night ist nicht weniger als das zweitbeste Werk der Fab Four. Nur Revolver würde ich höher einstufen.

Revolver ist sogar das absolute Nr. 1 Album vom Pipe.
Meine Beatles-Nr. 1 bleibt das Weiße Album, danach dann Abbey Road und dann wohl A Hard Day's Night.
Da ich keinen guten Ruf habe, denn ich verlieren könnte, kann ich ganz unbefangen festhalten: Magical Mystery Tour (egal ob EP, Compilation, LP) gefällt mir besser als Sgt. Peppers... oder Revolver.

Tolle Liste - davon befinden sich 81 Alben auch in meiner Sammlung! Und die meisten davon würden sich auch in einer Top500 bei mir wiederfinden. Meine Top100 ist von den Genren her etwas breiter aufgestellt, da fallen viele Lieblingstitel aus einer Top100 heraus.

Auch eine sehr starke Liste pipe. Mit Dir habe ich sogar genau 25 Alben gemeinsam in den Top 100.
2 Sachen sind mir jetzt aber besonders aufgefallen, und zwar:

Deine Nr. 7. Ich habe die dem Namen nach schon gehört, kenne aber musikalisch von denen gar nichts. Ich habe irgendwie so das Gefühl, dass die in die Top 10 so gar nicht richtig reinpassen wollen.
Und dann noch von Jethro Tull "Heavy Horses" als einziges Tull-Album in deinen Top 100. Für mich ein ordentliches, gutes Album von Tull, aber für Dich tatsächlich ihr bestes ?
