Dieses Album schätze ich wesentlich stärker ein als du. Seit vielen Jahren schon liegt es bei mir stabil bei * * * * 1/2.
Der Einstieg mit den beiden ersten Tracks ist herausragend. Dann geht es sehr gut weiter. Ich kenne fast alle Alben von Knopfler, aber auf diesem ist die Kombination aus Songwriting, Gesang, Gitarrenspiel und Sound am besten gelungen, finde ich. Danach noch zwei sehr gut gewählte Duett-Partner. Insgesamt ein atmosphärisches Album.

Dieser Doppelschlag ist für mich das Highlight im Katalog der Band - schöne Melodien, tolle Gitarrenarbeit. Funk, Rock, Pop in perfekter Mischung für das kalifornische Sommerfeeling in NRW (auch wenn der ja nun erstmal vorbei ist).

"Year Of The Cat" ist bei mir Platz 104 der Alltime Favs Liste.

Und bei Glen Frey finde ich besonders den Titel Track, "Long Hot Summer" , "I've Got Mine" und "River Of Dreams" sehr stark. insgesamt ein gut zu hörendes Album.
