80 Titel davon finden sich auch in meiner Sammlung... kein schlechter Wert. Davon zwar viele nicht in meiner Top100, die meisten wären aber in einer Top500.

Bei den von dir gelisteten Livealben vermisse ich nur Bob Marley - Live at the Lyceum - mein Lieblingslivealbum.

Magnolia Electric Co. liebe ich auch - es ist aber noch unter Songs:Ohia veröffentlicht worden...

Rancid und NOFX hatte ich nicht kommen sehen! "...And Out Come the Wolves" möchte ich aber auch schon lange kennenlernen.

@Fevers and Mirrors : Ich habe selten eine Top 100 gesehen, in der so viele meiner Favoriten auftauchen. Eine erhebliche Schnittmenge, die ich so nicht vermutet hätte. Deshalb habe ich mich etwas näher mit dem Ranking auseinandergesetzt.

93 der 100 Alben kenne ich, 81 der 100 Alben besitze ich. Über die Hälfte der Alben bekommen von mir entweder Höchstwertung (32) oder * * * * 1/2 Sterne (21). Weitere 18 Alben ordne ich bei * * * * ein. Im Vergleich zu Dir sind es bei mir etwas mehr Alben, die die maximale Wertung erhalten-. Aktuell 122 zu 77.

Durch die Berücksichtigung der Live-Alben, die ich auch berücksichtige, sind einige für mich herausragende Werke aufgeführt (Dylan * * * * *, Nirvana * * * * *, Springsteen Hammersmith * * * * *, Springsteen 75 - 85 * * * * 1/2, Rolling Stones * * * * 1/2). Allerdings sind dadurch auch 6 Alben in die Top 100 gelangt, die ich nicht kenne. Das einzige Studioalbum aus deinem Ranking, das ich nicht kenne ist jenes von "Sun Kil Moon". Lediglich für 3 der100 Alben rücke ich weniger als drei Sterne heraus, nämlich für "Zooropa", "Actually" und ""K.O.O.K.".

Marleys "Live!" schätze ich auch sehr, es steht momentan auf Platz 26 meines Live-Album-Rankings mit ****1/2, damit aber schon etwas abgeschlagen im Rennen um die Gesamt-Top100. Die Version von "Trenchtown Rock" darauf ist allerdings meine liebste Aufnahme von Bob überhaupt - ein absolutes Juwel.

Zu MEC: Bekäme ich doch nur 5€ für jede Diskussion über die Zuordnung von "The Magnolia Electric Co." über all die Zeit, hätte ich latho schon vor Jahren die "Sojourner"-Box spendieren können. Kurzum: Ich stütze mich da auf diverse Aussagen Molinas in Interviews und auch persönlich zu mir, in denen er stets "Didn't It Rain" als Abschluss von Songs: Ohia bezeichnete und die MEC-Phase mit dem von uns beiden geliebten Album einleitete. Vor längerer Zeit verlinkte Wikipedia auch mal ein oder zwei dieser Statements - weiß nicht, ob das noch immer so ist. Mir ist bewusst, dass es an vielen Stellen anders zugeordnet wird, aber ich denke, es ist nachvollziehbar, dass ich konkrete Aussagen von Jason stets der Abschreibkultur im Netz oder selbst Label-Angaben vorziehen werde.

NOFX und Rancid sind wohl unschwer erkennbar zwei Überbleibsel meiner Jugend in den 90ern. Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Beispielen, ist die Liebe zu diesen beiden Bands und speziell diesen beiden Alben nie abgekühlt. "Wolves"? Eine Wucht.

Und gibt es andere Alben von den Pet Shop Boys oder Tocotronic, die Du deutlich mehr schätzt? Für mich sind diese LPs ihre absoluten Höhepunkte.

Kennst Du nur das spezielle Album von Sun Kil Moon nicht oder gar nichts von Kozelek? Sowohl "Ghosts" als auch z.B. die Platten der Red House Painters sollten Dir eigentlich sehr zusagen, würde ich vermuten.

Irgendwann habe ich mal irgendetwas von Kozelek gehört, aus der Erinnerung würde ich sagen es war etwas von den "Red House Painters". Damals hat mich das nicht zu einer weiteren Beschäfigung mit dem sehr umfrangreichen Werk animiert. Man kommt ja ohnehin zu nichts und das wäre ja ein großes Faß, welches man da aufmacht.

Und gibt es andere Alben von den Pet Shop Boys oder Tocotronic, die Du deutlich mehr schätzt? Für mich sind diese LPs ihre absoluten Höhepunkte.

Eine wie erwartet sehr starke Top100. Die zitierten Platten stehen bei mir bei mindestens ****. Von Tocotronic bevorzuge ich das Weiße Album und das meiner Meinung nach sträflich unterschätzte Schall und Wahn. Von C. Isaak höre ich die ersten Alben ebenso etwas stärker, wobei Forever Blue das letzte wirklich gute Album für mich von ihm ist.
