Ok. Discogs sagt 1975 ohne genaue Datumsangabe. Habe aber selbst zwei Ausgaben der Platte eine kanadische Pressung mit 1975er Angabe und eine UK Pressung mit 1976er Angabe.

1976 ist in meiner Welt eher ein Zwischenjahr, aber auch eins, das Auseinandersetzung belohnt. Für die etablierten Künstler.innen scheinen sich Weggabelungen aufzutun, die Alben klingen für mich in erster Linie suchend. Hejira greift dieses Motiv ja nicht nur über die Jazzeinflüsse sondern auch textlich auf und auch Dylans Album klingt für mich, auch wenn die Songs oft eine filmische Westernqualität haben, weiterhin extrem europäisch. Stellvertretend dafür ist vielleicht auch Alice Coltranes Eternity, ein Album, das in der Rückschau wirklich ein Bindeglied zwischen Vergangenheit ind Zukunft ihrer Diskografie ist. Auch die Stones-LP aus '76 könnte hier mit ihrer stilistischen Vielfalt und den wechselnden Gitarristen genannt werden, aber die ist bei mir abgeschlagen.
Parallel dazu gibt es die intensive Auseinadersetzung mit den Möglichkeiten des Studios. Stevie Wonder, Serge Gainsbourg aber auch Jackson Brown verkörpern das für mich einerseits, während Michael Hurley oder die McGarrigle-Schwestern auf der anderen Seite das scheinbar authentischere im Folk finden und auf ihre Art jeweils auch stilprägend werden sollten. Und klar, Punk lauert wirklich überall und ist, bei aller Sympathie für die einzelnen LPs, auch eine notwendige Entwicklung.
Toll ist für mich, dass mit Dorothy Parker und Hiroshi Suzuki zwei LPs weit oben vertreten sind, auf die ich ohne Reissues in den letztem Jahren wahrscheinlich nie gestoßen wäre.

Viele Trends der Zeit, wie Prog oder Metal spielen bei mir bisher keine große Rolle. Auch bei Reggae, den brasilianischen Sounds und dem in Japan aufkommenden City Pop muss ich noch stärker einsteigen. Mir ist auch aufgefallen, wie wenig Jazz ich aus dem Jahr kenne.
