Schönes Album, einmal quer durch Prince's Gesamtwerk. Alles keine schlechten Songs, aber einen Überhit wird man in der Vault wohl nicht finden. Für einen Fan wie mich ist es aber trotzdem schön, immer mal wieder etwas daraus zu hören.

Ich glaube, dass die Vault sogar noch sehr viel Großartiges zu bieten hat. Das konnte man ja schon auf den Reissues von Purple Rain, 1999, Sign "☮" the Times und Diamonds And Pearls nachhören. Und auch Welcome 2 Amercia ist deutlich besser als diese seltsame Compilation mit zweitklassigem Material. Wirklich schlecht ist das natürlich alles nicht, aber die Latte hängt bei Prince halt schon verdammt hoch.
Wann kommt Horst Lichter mit dem Händlerkärtchen und knallt mich ab?

Welcome 2 Amercia ist ein sehr starkes Album, aber ich vermute, dass das eine Ausnahme ist, da das ein komplett fertig produziertes Album war, das zur VÖ bereit stand, dann aber doch nicht von Prince veröffentlicht wurde. Warum auch immer. Unfassbar eigentlich, so gut wie das Album ist. Würde mich schon mal interessieren, was Prince da geritten hat.
