Schöne Liste, diese 45 Alben besitze ich auch. Etwas überraschende Nummer 1 - sicher sehr gut, aber auf der Pole doch eher selten genannt. Freuen tue ich mich über die Vorliebe für Jonathan Richman und Townes Van Zandt. Und die Nennungen von Anthony/ANOHNI, Fehlfarben (beste deutschsprachige Rockplatte IMHO) und meinen geliebten Cowboy Junkies.

Schöne Liste, diese 45 Alben besitze ich auch. Etwas überraschende Nummer 1 - sicher sehr gut, aber auf der Pole doch eher selten genannt. Freuen tue ich mich über die Vorliebe für Jonathan Richman und Townes Van Zandt. Und die Nennungen von Anthony/ANOHNI, Fehlfarben (beste deutschsprachige Rockplatte IMHO) und meinen geliebten Cowboy Junkies.

Die erste Plätze sind bei mir schon sehr eng beieinander. Jahrelang war Bradleys Barn oder VU meine unangefochtene Nummer eins, das könnte nächsten Monat aber schon wieder anders aussehen..

Ganz tolle Liste @krauspop Viele Alben darin sind auch Favoriten von mir. Die hohe Wertschätzung von The Vulgar Boatmen ist schon unique. Ich hatte mir damals die Reissues auf Vinyl gekauft. Hat nie so gefunkt...aber ich sollte da wohl nochmal genauer hinhören. #24, #37, #72, #85, erfreuen auch ganz besonders mein Herz. Ewig unterschätzte Alben. #75 sagt mir überhaupt nichts. 75. Mike Ireland & Holler - Learning How to Live / gilt als schlechtverkauftestes Album von Sub-Pop ever. Countrypolitan war 1998 wohl nicht das Angesagteste. So langte es nur zum Kritikerliebling: "one of the finest (and certainly most underappreciated) country albums of the decade." (Allmusic)
Ireland ist musikalisch nicht mehr aktiv und schreibt nun Filmreviews...

Die Frage war bestimmt für @krauspop oder? Ich arbeite derzeit noch an einer Top 100. Von The Silos habe ich persönlich nur "Cuba" und "The Silos". Das letzte mal ca vor 10 Jahren aufgelegt . Hole ich mal wieder nach. Edit: Stimmt nicht. "Laser Bean Next Door" und "Hasta La Victoria" hatte ich mal bei einem Freund gehört und für gut befunden (also * * * bis * * * 1/2) Die anderen beiden Alben muss ich aber erst mal wieder nachhören.

"Cuba" und "The Silos" sind bei mir auch irgendwann im hintern Bereich ca. 300 zu finden. Obwohl Silos und Boatmen quasi aus der gleichen Band entstanden sind, war Walter Salas-Humara immer eher hemsärmelig und song - orientierter unterwegs. Die Botmen haben dieses repetitive was ich so liebe, die Songs haben teilweise nicht mal Refrains und werden unmotiviert ein- und ausgeblendet bzw. beendet und könnten ewig einfach so weiterlaufen, alles ist im Fluss - mit ihrem stoischen Beat, weichem Gesang ( teilweise drei Sänger die sich aber irgendwie alle gleich anhören), Tupfer von Orgel oder Geige und den Themen "Frauen, lange Autofahrten und Eisenbahnstationen", hach....
