Die Airchecks oder Bootlegs von Lester Young aus den frühen 50ern oder späten 40ern sind echt nicht so doll vom Klang her, aber halt live, wenn man Roy Haynes oder Lester Young genauer studieren möchte (Mel Lewis hatte das wohl gemacht), ist das sicher trotzdem eine sehr brauchbare Quelle. Das gilt wohl auch für die Trane Tapes jetzt. Und das Powerplay von Tyner fand ich schon beeindruckend wegen dem Tempo (auch von Pete La Roca?), Trane bremste seine Gruppe gegen Ende der Preview wohl etwas mit seinem eigenen Spiel. Kopieren kann man die gesamte Performance nicht so einfach (besonders nicht Tyner), weil man die exakten gleichen Sidemen bräuchte, aber studieren der Aufnahmen geht natürlich schon (was aber auch schwierig ist wegen der Nebengeräusche und der Qualität der Aufnahme). Ich find noch erwähnenswert, dass Pete La Roca(?) auf dem Album Giant Steps gar nicht zu hören ist, aber hier halt in der Preview von den Tapes.
