Auf der Scheibe sind wunderbare Adaptionen, z.B. Jackson Browne's "Under the falling Sky" und Eric Kaz's "Love Has No Pride" zu finden. Ich habe mich für "Nothing seems to matter" entschieden, weil es von ihr selbst stammt und für mich ein Beispiel ist, welch klare, stimmige Balladen sie zu schreiben imstande ist.

25.10.2005 - JJ hat geschrieben:Marc Cohns zweite Platte "The Rainy Season" hatte nicht mehr den gleichen kommerziellen Erfolg wie das Debut "Marc Cohn" aus 1991, mit dem totgedudelten "Walking in Memphis", ist aber dennoch, oder wegen des Fehlens radiotauglicher Stücke, eine wunderbare Scheibe, in sich sehr stimmig und ausgewogen.
"She's becoming gold" habe ich wegen der Background-vocals von David Crosby und Graham Nash ausgewählt.

M.C. hat vor kurzem einen bewaffneten Überfall auf seinen Tourbus überlebt, bei dem er durch einen Schuß an der Schläfe verletzt wurde. Noch in diesem Jahr soll sein viertes Album erscheinen.

25.10.2005 - JJ hat geschrieben:Auf dieser Platte sind ausschließlich Cover-Versionen von mehr oder weniger stark bearbeiteten Traditionals zu finden. Das Stück "End of the world" von Skeeter Davis aus dem Jahr 1963 gefällt mir besonders wegen des Gitarren-Arrangements.
Ich habe zwar einiges von ihm, das Album kenne ich aber gar nicht.
